Patrick Mahomes is not afraid to take on a challenge, so why not set a high standard for such a talented football team as the Kansas City Chiefs? Mahomes is pursuing a perfect season, the first 20-0 campaign in NFL history commentary that made the rounds across the NFL.
Mahomes dismissed the comments before, but training camp has brought a different mood to the All-Pro quarterback. Winning all 20 games this year is a goal the Mahomes and Chiefs want to achieve, which is what they are striving for a week into the camp.
“You try to win every single day and it starts here in training camp. Every single year I get into it; I try to win every single match. I try to go 20-0, 19-0 whatever it is,” said Mahomes to reporters at Chiefs training camp on Friday. “It’s really hard to do – that’s why it’s only been done really once. But at the same time, you try to go in with the mentality that you want to win every single day, so when you get to those game days, you have the best chance of winning every single game. “

The Miami Dolphins from 1972 are the only team in NFL history to have achieved a perfect season. The New England Patriots in 2007 were a game away from matching the Dolphins, but fell in the Super Bowl XLII to the New York Giants — even though they were the first team to go 18-0.
Kansas City have the talent and depth to win all 20 games, something the Chiefs have in mind as they are a few days away from putting the pillows on. The 20-0 season does not need to be mentioned, but it is a goal that Mahomes certainly wants to achieve.
“I have not said it out loud here. I think guys hear it and they understand it,” Mahomes said. “At the same time, keep it in perspective. We understand that it’s a long process that goes through this whole season, so we’ll just try to do what we can to win every single day. If it’s practice “movie room, whatever it is, to give us the best chance of winning as many matches as possible.”
