KANSAS CITY, Mo. () – The Cleveland Indians returned designated tracker Franmila Reyes from their paternity list on Monday and promoted outfielder Harold Ramirez on Monday before the start of a series of four games against the Kansas City Royals.
Reyes and his wife Marian welcomed their fifth child last week. He has a quick start this season, hitting 0.279 in 23 games with seven homes – two from the main league leadership – and 18 RBIs.
Ramirez gets a chance with outfielder Jordan Luplow, who is slowed by painful left weaknesses, which manager Terry Francona hopes will improve within the next day or two. Luplow was injured over the weekend when he ran out of ground.
The Indians vacated the roster for Reyes and Ramirez by choosing outfielder Daniel Johnson and left Kyle Nelson for Triple-A Columbus.
