MELBOURNE – Australia did not report any new cases of the local coronavirus on Sunday, keeping up with its recent success in keeping the virus at bay but still wants to continue its vaccination campaign from next month, government officials said.
The first batch of Pfizer vaccine in Australia is due in February, with campaigns for people over the age of 70, adults with major illnesses, aborigines in the front line, and Torres Strait Islander Island residents.
“We in Australia are controlling the virus, but we want to spread the whole vaccine,” said Treasurer Osh Friedenberg at a news conference.
The campaign was ongoing, despite low transmission numbers ությանը Pfizer vaccine supply scarcity observed in some other countries.
People can apply for the vaccine from Monday.
Recent government figures show that 95.09% of regular vaccinations for five-year-olds in the December quarter were a positive indicator of a positive attitude towards vaccines in the community.
“This will help save lives, protect lives. It’s also a very strong sign of confidence as we prepare for the COVID vaccine, ”said Health Minister Greg Hunt on Twitter.
Hunt says Australia has had no community incidents in the last 10 days in nine years.
Australia outperformed most of the other developed economies in the epidemic in terms of rapid border closures, blockades, strict hotel quarantine for travelers, widespread trials and social distance.
There were a total of only 28,800 cases, the vast majority in Victoria և 909 deaths.
Victoria saw her 18th day without a local transfer. In New South Wales, Queensland, there were no new community outbreaks in recent weeks, according to health data.
