WASHINGTON – Stephanie Grisham resigned as First Lady Melania Trump’s chief of staff on Wednesday after supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the US Capitol in a bid to bar Congress from approving the results of the presidential election.
“It was an honor to serve the country in the White House. “I am very proud to have been part of Mrs. Trump’s mission to help children everywhere. I am proud of the many achievements of this administration,” Grisham said in a statement. ,
Grisham did not say whether his resignation was in response to violence in the nation’s capital.
Numerous injuries have been reported, with one woman killed in a riot as Trump supporters responded to a presidential call to protest her loss in the November presidential election. Trump has repeatedly and unjustifiably claimed that the election was rigged.
