Former NFL commander Damien Cook died on June 26 at the age of 36 after suffering a heart attack.
He was an untreated offensive player who continued to play in parts of seven NFL seasons.
Nashville-born Damien Cook appeared in 26 NFL games on guard and made 10 starts in 2001-09 after Bethune-Cookman College, which confirmed his death on Friday, June 26, via Twitter.
He signed with the Ravens from college and spent the 2001 season with the Bears. After joining the Dolphins in 2002, he returned to Baltimore. In 2004, he joined the Browns and started four games.
After another stay with the Dolphins, Damien Cook joined Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL and Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena League before limiting his career with the Lions from the NFL in 2008-09
