A giant saltwater swimming pool, known as China’s Dead Sea, is located in Dying County, Sichuan Province, and is in a riot of colors as tables grab their rubber rings and descend on it.
The indoor water park is said to be the largest in China and covers 30,000 square meters.
The pool can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors at a time, and more than a million people have visited the resort this summer, operators say.
The man-made “sea” is created with rich salt resources in the region and contains 43 different minerals and trace elements.
Due to its salinity of over 22%, swimmers swim freely on the surface – just as they do in the Dead Sea in the Middle East.
The resort also offers a spa, golf course and even on-site cheerleaders.
